LANGUAGE! Live Microsite Redesign

Voyager Sopris Learning needed to update a microsite used by district administrators reviewing proposals for literacy intervention solutions. They hired me as a contractor to update the webtext and propose site improvements. My background working for a government agency informed my approach to this project. I had written RFPs, compared proposals, sat on review panels, and made hiring recommendations and decisions, so I had insight into the reviewer's experience.
The old microsite required users to navigate multiple pages with few navigational cues. The connection between print samples, digital examples and core messaging was unclear. In short, decision makers reviewing the microsite had to work way too hard to understand LANGUAGE! Live.
I collaborated with the head of the Florida sales team to meet his team's needs. I proposed a simple one page site with drop-down sections that would allow reviewers to navigate by scrolling. New messaging and images matched the Florida marketing material that I had helped create through Bell Marketing Group. Instructions directed reviewers to turn to specific pages in their print samples and watch the corresponding video. This illustrated LANGUAGE! Live's print and digital experience, as well as the corresponding online word training, for each exemplar unit.
The Florida microsite redesign resulted in a significantly improved reviewer experience. After this project was completed, Voyager Sopris Learning contracted me to work on digital messaging for their other literacy intervention products.
