I AM MORE Video and Photo Shoot

Voyager Sopris Learning needed a fresh, new marketing campaign, for LANGUAGE! Live, a comprehensive literacy intervention program. The company’s past marketing focused on technology and lacked emotional appeal. Voyager Sopris Learning asked Bell Marketing Group to find a way to connect emotionally with the teachers and students who use the product every day.
Bell Marketing presented I AM MORE, a branding strategy that both described the students who use the product as well as the product’s ability to do more for a school than competitive solutions. It was created as an emotional appeal to see these struggling students and the dedicated teachers who serve them for more than their limitations, but for the potential hidden within.
Through Bell Marketing, I contributed to several aspects of this project, from brainstorming the initial messaging to developing several different visual concepts for the client. I also planned and managed a combo video and photo shoot. I guided the photographer, art director and client to create consensus for the project; recruited kids for the shoot; worked with the parents on logistics and props; and kept the shoot on schedule and on point. During the video/photo shoot, 22 children and teens needed to circulate between a photographer, videographer and an area for downtime. We shot at two locations, a public school and a mural. The result was authentic, captivating photography and an inspirational video.
The I AM MORE campaign was so successful that Voyager Sopris Learning elevated the campaign to a branding direction for the whole company. In March 2019 District Administration, a trade publication for education leaders, awarded Voyager Sopris Learning the Advertising Excellence honor for I AM MORE.
